Scott McFarlane a gifted painter is known primarily for his dark, powerful, spiritual landscapes but is equally competent in the ceramic discipline - the clay readily lending itself not only to his landscapes but also portraits, abstracts and text-based subjects.
Since graduating with honours from Otago School of Art in 1993, Scott has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand. From 1997 - 98 was Artist in Residence at the Rita Angus Cottage, Wellington. Originally from Wellington, Scott has spent time in Northland and Dunedin - the dramatic landscape of both islands influencing his painting. He now lives and works in Northland.
