Pauline Bern

 

Pauline Bern began her career as a jeweller in the United States in the 1970’s.  On her return to New Zealand she exhibited work with Fingers in Auckland.  

Her work often reflects domesticity.  The necklace design which won her the 2000 Thomas Gold Award was titled ‘Scrubber’.  This piece is lodged in the Dowse Art Museum’s permanent collection.   

Her most recent work comprises shell, gold, and copper.  Pauline is a senior tutor at Unitech Institute of Technology in Auckland.
