Paul Maseyk - a chequered history and a colourful past

This work was produced following on from the exhibition at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery titled One Pot Wonder.

Bright shiny colour, geometric black and white – aspects explored through the DPAG exhibition are further developed here.

The check-mate! set of pots was made specifically to accompany an ongoing series of paintings begun in 2011. Optical, geometric art is a strong interest of Maseyk's and he enjoys the complexity of it both on a flat surface and his own round, 3-d "canvasses" he creates.
