Lisa Woods

 

Lisa Woods is an Auckland jeweller and designer. Her work is pared back but with a unique tactile quality inspired by pieces of jewellery from antiquity. She works in a variety of materials - gold, platinum, silver, diamonds, rubies, sapphires.

 

Lisa Woods trained in jewellery and design at Sir John Cass Faculty of Art and Central St Martin's School of Art in London.  She holds a Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours) from Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design, London and also a City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Diamond Mounting from Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, London where the focus was on the technical and traditional aspects of jewellery making. 


Her work has been exhibited and sold in the U.K, Germany, Spain, Czechoslovakia, U.S.A, Japan, Singapore, Australia and N.Z. Since returning to New Zealand in 1994 she has also taught on an itinerant basis at UNITEC, MIT and ASA. She presently teaches part time at Hungry Creek School of Art and Craft.
