John Parker

John Parker was one the first artists to exhibit at AVID, with his solo show in 1992.  Since then he has continued to exhibit with us, and his exquisite white pots for which is justly famous are instantly recognisable, and continue to be as popular ever. 

John is a highly respected teacher, writer and speaker, and in 2007 was elected a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, Geneva.

The book John Parker  Ceramics; a collection of essays, interviews and images including technical notes on the works, published by David  Bateman Ltd, on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at City Gallery, Wellington, October - December 2002. is also available from AVID



John Parker has been awarded an Arts Foundation Laureate, a very prestigious award, given to only five outstanding artists each year.


The National Business Review recently listed John Parker as one of the names to consider when investing in applied art.
