Jane Dodd - A Stranger Danger

11 - 27 October 2018

We are living through dangerous days where the perils are unfamiliar, unprecedented and obscure.  What is the threat and who is endangered? Who can survive?

Jane Dodd has been speculating on this within her recent jewellery. Simians and pachyderms, bats and birds and bugs, arctic avengers and tropical terrorists are the protagonists in these visions of a dreamy epic tale of survival.

The origin for each piece is often the challenge and fun of carving and the natural qualities of the materials; woods, bone, shell and stone.  But equally important to her is having a laugh in the face of dismal inter-species relations and monumental catastrophic doom.
