Dennis Handyside

Dennis Handyside brings his beautiful and skilfully worked wooden bowls to AVID. He uses selected native and exotic timbers which have been seasoned over many years, carved with a master's eye for form, and inlaid with complementary coloured woods and other materials.

Dennis began wood turning in 1989 from an interest in some of the lovely native timbers available in NZ. He also developed an interest in experimenting using colour and metals [silver, bronze, copper)  He has recently resumed his passion of wood turning and cast bronze bowls, and his interest in wood turning and design, after time spent on his other interests of architecture and building.
