Crystal Chain Gang

Jim Dennison and partner Leanne Williams work together as the Crystal Chain Gang. 

Jim and Leanne both had successful careers before changing direction to follow their dreams and study glass casting at Wanganui Polytech in 2001.  Jim first studied botany and ecology for a Bachelor of Science degree, and had a successful career as a landscape gardener.  Leanne's first career was in teaching, until she decided to develop her interests in ceramics, painting and sculpture.

Many of their works are sculptural collaborations. These sculptures have an edge - perhaps humour, perhaps not - when  small glass sculptures, (roses, birds,) beautiful in themselves, are combined into larger works which reveal a more considered meaning, such as the "Globe" and "Birdcage" pieces.
