Claudia Borella

Claudia Borella is acknowledged as one the foremost artists working in glass today.  She has developed her kiln-formed techniques to produce her elegant and sophisticated works which are admired and collected internationally.  Since her graduation in 1995, she has been actively involved in the glass community in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the United States, where she has contributed her skills as a teacher, speaker and curator.

Claudia has said of her work: “ It operates on a metaphorical level, exploring the universal boundaries of  language and semantics – sign and symbolism that can transcend cultural boundaries to  create a common dialogue or language.”

Her most recent work shows her to be one of the unique voices in international contemporary glass.

Claudia has recently been appointed Adjunct Associate Professor with the Faculty of Arts & Design at the University of Canberra.
